Erik Tietz | Machine Made
Erik Tietz is a founding partner of Tietz-Baccon, a design and digital fabrication firm established in 2007 in NYC. With a strong interest in the way things are made and could be made, Erik and his firm utilize advanced computer controlled manufacturing processes to prototype and realize physical products for their clients. Projects range in scale and complexity-from one off furniture pieces or curtain wall mock-ups to production runs of custom hardware. Clients of Tietz-Baccon span the fields of architecture, design, art, and engineering. Expanding on the services his firm currently provides, Erik is heading up a new web based digital fabrication service called MACHINEMADE, which is set to launch in late March of 2013. MACHINEMADE is a platform that streamlines access to CNC fabrication technologies for design professionals and the broader world of people who are interested in making things.
Erik holds a Master in Architecture degree from Harvard University, Graduate School of Design. He also holds a BA in Architecture from the University Pennsylvania. Prior to starting Tietz-Baccon he worked at architecture firms and fabrication shops in the US and Europe.
